19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents his initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after that period of that year.
Victory also indicates he has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 different events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children together, so to win a trophy is really nice," said tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to play at the top level was over.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an better serve.
The champion came back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors swapped breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his first ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a decider.
He saved four early-game opportunities in a close final set before Medvedev broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to control a return after a lengthy match.
