'People are intimidated' - why 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the team to beat.

The proof is undeniable why Arsenal have become countless pundits' favorites to secure the Premier League this season.

Look at their results against West Ham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those equivalent matches during the prior term.

The Gunners have overcome all of them in the current season, but lost 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race last season.

Impenetrable Rearguard

Arsenal's defensive strength is a key reason why they are appearing strong to at last realize their title target.

They rank top for shutouts (6), goals allowed (3), shots faced (72), quality opportunities against (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the finest in the league, with Arsenal recording a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Mastery

Their danger from dead balls is well known, but opposition teams still struggle to stop the Gunners from these situations.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a intimidation presence. People are just afraid of them and it is wonderful to see."

Title Potential

What is especially notable about Arsenal's beginning to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City at home - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they keep winning, their long-standing opponents aren't faring so well. This marks the premier instance at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on manager Mikel Arteta at the outset, having spent around £250m on eight summer additions in search of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far paid off in style, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and boasting the tightest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Shutouts in three straight Premier League games
  • 385 minutes without allowing a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and experts have labeled Arteta's men as a "juggernaut, looking difficult to stop" with the whole club now functioning with confidence and determination.
